What is a Data Center?
A data center is the physical foundation of the digital world. While we often think of “the cloud” as something abstract, it is actually a network of highly secure buildings that house the hardware required to store, process, and distribute the world's information.
If you use an app, stream a video, or save a file online, that data is living on a physical disk inside one of these facilities.
These buildings house everything, from family photos and memes to information critical to national security and infrastructure. Data centers power our modern world.

Economic & Community Benefit
Local Revenue
A project of this size will provide a minimum $2 million annually in local tax and fee revenue, more than two times the current city budget of approximately $740K. This will support property tax relief, historic town center improvements, infrastructure upgrades, and community benefit initiatives.
High-Wage Employment and Jobs
This project will create many construction jobs and 50 - 100 high-paying permanent positions. Additionally, every one direct data center job creates roughly 4.5 ancillary jobs in industries like maintenance, retail, and trades.
This project is committed to using local labor and vendors as much as possible.
Infrastructure Upgrades
To help alleviate issues with the failing sewer system, this project will build a new sewer line. This will help address current challenges, reduce costs for residents, and support Kingston’s continued growth.

Fact vs. Fiction: Dispelling Myths
“My electric bill will go up because of the data center.”
No. This project is committed to paying for all necessary grid and transmission upgrades, as well as the cost of operation.
“It will drain our local water supply for cooling.”
No. In accordance with Bartow County requirements, the facility will use a closed-loop cooling system that recirculates water and minimizes evaporation. The project is expected to request about 100,000 gallons per day, but is expected to use less than 50,000 gallons per day.
We are working with the county to find ways this project can expand and improve the overall water supply for the entire community.
“The facility will create industrial air pollution.”
Data centers are clean. The only emissions come from emergency backup generators that comply with all EPA and state air quality regulations.
“Data centers are loud and will ruin our quiet community.”
This facility will comply with all Bartow County regulations for noise. We will remain under 65 decibels during daytime hours, and 55 decibels at night. This is significantly lower than typical industrial uses.
